Job profile for a Director
The role of a director varies greatly from one company to another, and indeed the sector in which that company operates, so it is not possible to say exactly what they do. However, it is one of the most senior roles in any company and directors will be on the board in most small and medium companies. It is seen as a prestigious job and particularly in a large company a director will tend to have many reports, manage a sizeable budget and no doubt draw a good salary as a result. The actual duties of a director are usually with the bigger picture such as strategy, building relationships with clients, developing new channels, signing off and providing their take on the 'big ideas', rather than doing the nitty gritty work which will be palmed off to those who are junior to them.
