Investigate cases where fraud is suspected. Have a detailed knowledge of the welfare benefits system. be qualified to degree level. Direct investigations. Have a thorough understanding od Scots/UK laws in relation to deceit crimes and the criminal justice system. Interview suspects under caution. Interview witnesses. Obtain data from external sources such as banks, credit card companies and utility providers. Analyse data. prepare reports for senior management. Provide fraud awareness training to internal and external staff. Liase with external and internal partners such as HMRC, Police Auditors. Investigate cases including taking testimony from witnesses. Prepare cases and submit for prosecution. Issue penalties and cautions against fraudsters. prepare and maintain statistical data.
