Job profile for a Land Manager

Identifies, assesses and purchases land, appropriate for residential development. Required to have knowledge of the planning system, understanding of layout design and marketability of housetypes and the ability to negotiate with vendors, agents and solicitors. A significant amount of travel is normally required, in the search for new sites, particularly off-market opportunities. Evening meetings are commonplace,so it is not a 9 to 5 job. Will often work as part of a small team, with responsibility for managing the Asst Land Buyers/Land Buyers and reporting to Land Director.
