Job profile for a Literacy Co-ordinator
As well as teaching a full timetable of English lessons in a 1600-pupil high school, I am responsible for monitoring and developing pupils' literacy skills in all areas of the curriculum. I provide materials and plans for a weekly literacy lesson delivered by a team of 60 tutors to mixed age and ability tutor groups. I monitor pupils' reading, and their reading age gains, and provide intervention for those who have fallen behind.
