Audio and copy typing of all medical documents, clinical correspondence, reports and discharge summaries, to a high degree of accuracy and with detailed knowledge of medical terminology. Some of this material is of a highly sensitive and distressing nature. Organise waiting lists and ensure that patients do not breach the various targets. Deal with telephone enquiries from patients, some very ill and worried, and act as contact point between doctors and patients. Liaise with clinic clerks, out-patient staff, doctors, hospice staff and other health professionals about these queries. Maintain computerised statistics on patient attendance and databases on patient outcomes. Maintain patient records. Maintain doctors' diaries. Organise and minute meetings. Knowledge of Windows applications is essential.
