Job profile for a Senior Legal Executive

A senior legal executive (strictly speaking ANY qualified legal executive)will be a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. They will generally specialise in one area of law, typically civil litigation, personal injury,crime,matrimonial/family, conveyanciing etc. Within their specialism, they will conduct their own caseload and/or assist with their colleagues' caseloads. They will advise clients, draft legal documents, attend court hearings, and effectively have the same role as a solicitor. The key difference is that they are governed by the Institute of Legal Executives rather than the Law Society. Suitably experienced/qualified Fellows of the Institute may also be appointed as a partner in a law firm and become a District Judge.
