In Charge of the safe operation of the train. Giving the driver the necessary instructions concerning the safe working of the train. Knowledge of technical spec of train, routes: levels crossings, tunnels, junctions, signalling systems, signalling control centres for all routes qualified to operate trains over, and to operate train doors and authorise all movements of the train to leave a station by giving authority to the driver. Ticket examination, management of on-train staff and compilation of defect reports for the train, passengers announcements, delay attribution, also food hygiene.
