Job profile for a Trainee Procurement Officer

1) To assist the strategic category management team in providing a range of procurement services to Council departments. 2) To liaise and communicate with client departments, suppliers and contractors, and other organisations, both verbally and in writing as required. 3) To assist with the gathering of information for drafting tender documents and the development of selection and evaluation criteria. 4) To carry out research and analysis in connection with procurement projects. 5) To assist with departmental spend reviews and the calculation and compilation of savings statistics. 6) To undertake procurement projects commensurate with experience and competency levels achieved. 7) To assist in providing up to date information to client departments about the procurement arrangements and services provided by the team. 8) To carry out efficient procurement projects in a manner to satisfy Corporate Social Responsibility 9) ) To carry out any other duties that may be required, and which are commensurate with the grading of the post.
