Job profile for a User Service Manager

Reporting to the Director for Clinical Information Systems in the College of Dental Medicine and working closely with all clinical management groups, the incumbent will • Manage the junior technical support staff members, which includes prioritizing, delegating, and following up with the support requests, and providing directions and getting outside assistance and resources for the support staff. • Manage the information security on client side, including creating client system security policies, implementing the policies, educating the users, and monitoring system security from client side. • Manage projects, especially the projects that involve client side system implementation. • Manage user service quality assurance by creating necessary support procedures and protocols, following up on execution of the procedures and protocols, identifying weakness of user support, recommending solutions, and executing the solutions. • Work with the database and application manager and system administrator, managing CIS’s inventory for computing devices and software, including implementing an inventory management system, surveying and creating inventory information, monitoring the inventory, and updating the aged computing devices • Manage and conduct clinical system trainings for new faculty, staff, and students, which include creating training materials, facilitating training sessions, and creating and distributing user manuals/standard operational procedures • Provide end user supports for clinical systems • Perform other special ongoing projects and related duties as assigned
