Employee Competitiveness

How competitive are you in the work place? Whilst most people would say they are averagely competitive in most areas of life, when it comes to the workplace there is a long-standing idea that people are more competitive than in others of their life.

Whether this is because the working environment harbours competition more clearly with employee targets, the offer of cash incentives/bonuses or more wages and promotion for doing well, or some other reason, it certainly seems to be borne out.

Below is the result of the survey of around 1,000 UK employees split by the age of the respondent. These are the average figures across those who answered per age; there were five options of competitiveness available to choose from.

Interestingly, they all said they were at least moderately - no age group was predominantly not very or not at all competitive, surely good news for employers!
