Merchant Bank

One of the few financial terms that everyone understands is surely 'bank' - the financial institutions that look after our money, where our salary gets paid into and occasionally they give us a few pence interest here and there too (depending on the country we are in).

But what of a merchant bank?

Well a merchant bank is simple one that can process credit card payments. Investment banks that undertake merchant banking activities are also under this definition.
