Wall Street

Literally this is a street in the district of Manhattan, New York.

It is always used to refer to the financial heartland / centre of America practically and the finance district of New York specifically. Many leading banks and of course the NYSE and American Stock Exchange are all based here.

Note that the term does not geographically only refer to those literally in Wall Street, it is more conceptual for the financial powerland.
