Take Charge Of Your Finances

If you want to take charge of your finances, then the very first thing that you need to do is to create a budget.

A budget is as useful for tracking money as a map is for tracking your movement across the globe - and without one it is very hard indeed to see where the problems are in your money and where you could be saving money or earning more interest and so forth.

First off it doesn't need to be too complex. Create a spreadsheet with fields of your expenses and also your incomings.

Work out your total outgoings and incomings to get your net view each month.

Next up, work out the money you have in savings if any and the interest you get across accounts. Experiment with different interest rates and combining money in the highest account available at the time and see how much you could be making, you might be pleasantly surprised with how much more you could make.

Also use the budget to highlight main areas of spending and see where you could spend less - too much on clothes or gadgets perhaps?
