Improving Credit ChancesSome people may have difficulties getting credit for a whole host of reasons. If you are worried or have concerns about whether you will be able to get credit or not, here are some simple things you can do in order to make it more likely that you will get credit. The first thing is to ensure that you always pay off any repayments you have on time. If you are consistently late or miss your repayments then clearly this will adversely affect your credit rating as you seem to be a bit of a riskier bet when it comes to getting credit. You also need to be as patient as you can be. Whilst it can be tempting to reapply as soon as you get turned down for credit somewhere, you should not reapply straight away. The reason is that if you do this it could itself affect your credit rating as it can appear you are desperate for credit, so you should wait a few months between applications. It is also important that you are on the electoral register as banks will check that this is the case and that the address you supply is registered against you as someone living there. You should also be as honest as possible when giving information on a credit application form of some kind. There is little point leaving out difficult circumstances you have been under, for instance if you have County Court Judgement against you, as these will be traced almost certainly and so if they are around it is best to state that up front. Finally if you do have any bad debt then whenever you are able you should repay that debt. This makes a difference because any such debt will be marked as settled if you do finally pay back the debt.
