Working capital

Working capital refers to the assets that an organisation has at the present time. It will tend to refer to cash especially and also accounts receivable.

It is sometimes referred to as liquid capital as well as working capital, and of course it is an important term as all companies and institutions need some liquidity in order to be able to manage on a day-to-day basis, it is not good to have everything tied up.
