Exposure

Exposure in the financial sense - what does it mean?

Well, exposure refers to the amount of credit that has been extended to a certain borrower, or to a particular entity, and therefore is a measure of how much you stand to lose potentially - how exposed you are, if the debt turns bad.

So it is the risk of suffering a loss and the higher the exposure, the more you could potentially lose.
